MDFA 3rd division qualifiers: Round-up
After a enthralling 2015-16 season, the new season of MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) has been underway with the 3rd division qualifying matches been played at St. Xavier’s Ground, Parel.
SRS Sporting Skills played Koli Boys in the first qualifying match, and didn’t disappoint their coach after a thumping 4-1 victory over Koli Boys.
Although Koli Boys’ took the lead in the 5th minute itself through Saurabh Keni, it was SRS Sporting’s beautiful attacking display that stole the show.
Naresh Mangela equalized five minutes later before three goals in space of fifteen minutes wrap up the victory for SRS Sporting. Ashish Dhage scored brace, whereas Vinod Kumar scored the other goal.
In the second match, Malvani SC produced a stellar display as they went on to defeat Milaan 2-0 to qualify into the next round.
Ajay Sawant scored the opener in the 8th minute before Daryll Manvel put the tie to bed after netting the final goal in the 38th minute.
In the other encounter, two goals each from Vinayak and Viraj helped Maurya Young Star to defeat Kuber Galli 4-0 in their qualifying match.
It was a brilliant performance from both the attackers as four goals in seven minutes proved enough to register a thumping victory.
In the last match of the day Arundhaya Mandal overcame RCF Youth Council 2-0 to progress into the next round with goals from Abhishek and Jay.
