League of Champions

This year from 12th November onwards ‘For Young Indians Sports’ the company which organised MDFA – Mumbai FC Masters League, is going to initiate League of Champions which would see selected schools and academies participating in this long extravaganza tournament.

Recap of MDFA – Mumbai FC Masters League

The inaugural season of MDFA – Mumbai FC Masters League was organised by FYI Sports (a startup who share same ideology of the development of youth and scouting talent) earlier this year in the month of February. The success of the Tournament reached new heights as over 1700 kids from 40+ different schools and 30+ different academies from all over Mumbai participated in the month-long league.

The tournament scouted and developed players which can prove to be beneficial in the long run for various clubs and more importantly for the country. Such initiatives have been proved effective abroad where grassroots are been promoted since a very long time and that’s one of the sole reasons why foreign countries have matured and developed players by the time they turn at least 18. Meanwhile, India’s football fraternity has suffered in each and every aspect due to lack of promoting grassroots since forever.

Such huge response and Masters League’s success motivated FYI Sports to take yet another big step.

League of Champions

In association with Indian Football School (IFS), WIFA, Mumbai FC (Youth Development Partner) and Brasil Futebol Academia (Technical Partner), a similar tournament like MDFA – Mumbai FC Masters League for youngsters will be organized by ‘For Young Indians Sports’ in few weeks time by the name of ‘League of Champions’.

Over 80 top teams, 800 talented players will participate in this four-month long league from November to February. The Tournament will be held at IFS football turf, Cooperage Football Ground (home ground of Mumbai FC) and IFS Football Turf at Andheri Sports Complex (home ground of Mumbai City FC).

Participation of renowned and top schools will further make this tournament exciting and thrilling. Don Bosco High School (Matunga), St. Stanislaus High School (Bandra), St. Francis D’Assisi High School (Borivali), Baichung Bhutia Football School (Navi Mumbai) are some of the big names who will lock horns in the tournament.

There will be a total of four age categories: Under-8, Under-10, and Under-12 matches which will be a 5-A-side game, whereas, Under-14 will be a 7-A side game.

This FYI Sports’ initiative will not only set a huge platform for the kids but also gave them a ray of hope to pursue football as a profession.
