Kenkre FC thumped PIFA Colaba 5-0 in U-18 I-League

24th November 2016: PIFA Colaba hosted Kenkre FC Under-18 I-league Maharashtra Zone Group match at All Saints High School, Bhiwandi on Wednesday evening. The visitors were on a rampage as they notched up a fantastic 5-0 victory over PIFA Colaba to win their first game of the U-18 I-league season.

Kenkre FC lost their first match 2-0 against Mumbai FC which was also the opening game of U-18 I-league 2016-17 season. Bryce Miranda and Rabiul Shaikh were impressive as they scored one goal each to complete a fine victory at Cooperage Stadium.

The boys in green are leading the table with three points in two games and have a better goal difference than Mumbai FC who also has three points in two games. It took Kenkre FC only nine minutes to open the scoring when Marc D’Souza scored from close range.

Four minutes later, Avinash Kumar set up Prathamesh Kadam whose sublime finish proved too good for goalkeeper Jay Awanshi. Kenkre FC dominated the match proceedings and had the majority of the ball possession throughout the match.

Marc D’Souza was in fine form as scored Kenkre’s third and his second of the game after he pounced on a loose ball which rattled the bar and fell into Marc’s path, who comfortably placed his shot in the back of the net.

The fourth goal came a minute before half-time when Krishna Vijayan was brilliantly set up by Klien Pinto. Kenkre FC went into the break with a four-goal advantage. In the second-half, Kenkre FC sat back and controlled the match proceedings with brilliant passing which started right from the Kenkre FC’s backline.

The final goal was scored by defender Shaunak Ghorpade who got on the scoresheet in the 93rd minute to complete a resounding victory.
