FC Goa will play two more friendly before their campaign against NorthEast United FC

Following the FC Goa squad's return from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil after a successful pre-season outing, the first training session in Goa was held at the Nagoa Village panchayat ground in Nagoa.

Panaji, 27th September 2016: ISL season 3 – Following the FC Goa squad’s return from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil after a successful pre-season outing, the first training session in Goa was held at the Nagoa Village panchayat ground in Nagoa. The players were put through light training exercises by the various coaches under the watchful eye of Chief coach and manager Zico.

FC Goa had played 4 friendly matches in Brazil. It was  a good experience for Gaurs. With 1 loss, 2 draw and a win will certainly boost their confidence. Following are the result of 4 matches played in Brazil before their ISL 3 campaign.

  1. FC Goa went down to Bangu Atletico Clube 1-3
  2. Goalless draw against Boavista SC
  3. FC Goa came from behind to claim a 2-2 draw in an enthralling match against Rio Branco AC
  4. First pre-season win in Rio de Janeiro with a superb 1-0 victory over Brazilian heavyweights CR Flamengo

FC Goa will play two more friendly games in Goa against Pune based, DSK Shivajians on 29th September 2016 at the training facility. On the following day, 30th September 2016, another pre-season friendly has been scheduled against the U-19 Indian national squad in preparation for a competitive season of football in the Hero Indian Super League.

FC Goa will kick off their campaign against NorthEast United FC at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati on 4th October 2016. The first home match at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda will be held on 8th October 2016 when the home side lock horns with Antonio Lopez Habas and FC Pune City in what promises to be an exhilarating contest.
