Dempo Sports Club to defeat DSK Shivajians ,Pune 1-0 in the Bandodkar Gold Trophy football tournament

Navelim 22nd May 2016: A superb bicycle kick by the substitute Osmiro Trindade in the 94th minute helped Dempo Sports Club to defeat DSK Shivajians ,Pune 1-0 in the Bandodkar Gold Trophy football tournament match played at Rosary Ground, Navelim on Sunday .
Both the teams displayed attacking brand of soccer and had equal number of scoring opportunities. As the match progressed, Dempo Sports Club continued to exert pressure on the rivals and could have surged ahead when hardworking Hayden Fernandes well executed free kick was well blocked by Sayak Barai .
At the other hand, DSK Shivajians played a smart game ,putting pressure on Dempo wasit line and also added to the pressure when their wing back played a far more attacking line ,Rohit Kumar who marshall the midfield with a aplomb and kept his forwards busy with a flawless passing .
They came close in foisting the lead in the 20th minute when Lalruat Puia snap shot was well blocked by Dempo Sports Club goalkeeper Ozen Silva .
Midway in the opening session, Dempo Sports Club pushed forward in search of match winner, continuing of control possession .Their pressure nearly paid off when attacking midfielder Hayden Fernandes unleashed a volley which miss the target narrowly.
The pattern of the match was the same in the second half, with Dempo Sports Club doing most of the attacking with striker Kapil Hoble troubling the rival defense with well-orchestrated raids but DSK Shivajians rear guard comprising of Ameya Ranawadc Sairvat Kina and Lalnunsiama were stubborn at the back and never allowed their rival attackers to maneuver inside their territory.
Midway in the second session , the visitors were a transformed side and worked to break the rival defense .They managed to create a flurry of attacks and nearly found the match winner when Jesse Ralte found ideally placed K. Lalphathanga’s snap shot was well blocked by Dempo Sports Club goalkeeper Ozen Silva .
There after the visitors doing most of the attacking .Dempo were on the back foot for long period and the visitors broke Dempo reistance but Jesse Ralte try was well taken care by Dempo goalkeeper,As the time ticking out, DSK Shivjians went all out when rival defender Jayson D;Souza ;s defensive lapses saw Jesse Ralte ‘s rasping shot was pulled off by Dempo goalkeeper ozen Silva .
Substutite Osmiro Trinande scored the all-important goal in the injury time .Following a well-executed free kick by Hayden Ferandes was beautifully connected the reverse kick in style keeping the rival goalkeeper Sayak Barai dazed.
