Wilson D’Souza nets four in ICL Youngstar’s 11-1 rout of TSG

ICL Youngstars brutally dispatched a hapless The Sports Gurukul outfit 11-1 in the 3rd Division of the Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA) at St. Xavier’s Ground in Parel on Thursday, 7th May 2015. Wilson D’Souza bagged four goals to add to Mrudul Parab’s hat-trick as ICL Youngstars were in rampant mood at the expense of The Sports Gurukul.

ICL were held to a goalless draw just a couple of days ago, but Youngstars showed no signs of impotency in front of the goal when Ansel Fernandes gave them the lead. ICL began tormenting the TSG defence which cracked again few minutes later when Mrudul Parab put ICL 2-0 up.

Mrudul Parab was on target once again for the ICL Youngstars as he bagged his second of the game to give ICL a healthy three goal cushion. But ICL were in no mood for mercy as they continued their assault at the TSG goal.

Just as TSG had somewhat weathered the storm Wilson D’Souza netted ICL’s fourth to pile on more misery on the jaded TSG backline. Minutes after his first goal of the afternoon, Wilson D’Souza breached the TSG defence once again to make it 5-0 for the ICL Youngstars.

Varun Pillai’s strike just before the half time was the saving grace for TSG in an otherwise torrid first period although it failed in weakening ICL’s grip on the game as they headed into half time with a 5-1 advantage.

The second half had a similar pattern to it as ICL Youngstars had the TSG goal under siege as they continued to pepper the TSG penalty area.

Ansel Fernandes replicated the ICL’s start to the first half, by grabbing the opening goal of the half which put ICL Youngstars in a 6-1 lead.

Things were to get worse for TSG as the goal early on in the second half opened the floodgates. ICL bagged their seventh goal of the game through Aditya Bhoir shortly before Wilson D’Souza completed his hat-trick to send ICL in dreamland.

After Wilson D’Souza it was Mrudul Parab’s turn to stake a claim for the matchball, when he scored ICL’s ninth goal completing his own hat-trick.

TSG who had completely surrendered to their fate had more mauling in store. Wilson D’Souza took his team’s tally in double figures netting his fourth goal of the afternoon.

Aditya Bhoir capped off a legendary performance from ICL Youngstars with his team’s eleventh goal of the game as ICL Youngstars bludgeoned TSG 11-1.

ICL Youngstars put on a real show at St. Xavier’s and their desire to keep going despite the scorching summer heat must be lauded.
