Tarun Sporting see off Dahisar United to reach Quarter Finals

It was a very impressive game played between Tarun Sporting and Dahisar United in the 3rd division match of MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) at St Xavier’s ground, Parel on 27th May 2015 which was won by Tarun Sporting 1-0
From the kickoff itself Tarun Sporting showed their supremacy. The whole first half was under their control with very few chances coming for Dahisar United.
Tarun Sporting missed many glorious chances in the first half.
In the first few minutes of the game the Tarun Sporting made attempts to score but their efforts do not materialize when Ziya Shaikh’s shot went over the cross bar.
Tarun Sporting’s moment came in the 15th minute when Ravi Rathod fired a shot straight on target beyond the reach of the Dahisar United goalkeeper to give Tarun Sporting the lead.
As the game progressed Tarun Sporting missed many chances as their shots were not well directed.
The first half ended with Tarun sporting leading by an odd goal scored by Ravi Rathod.
The second half was very exciting as the game was constantly changing.
The ball was under Dahisar United’s possession after the first half of the game. Yash Mishra missed a chance as his weak shot was caught by the goalkeeper in the 31st minute. It was a good chance for Dahisar United to match their score with Tarun Sporting.
5 minutes later Dahisar United’s Alok Yadav shot from a free kick from center of the field which was latched onto by Anurag Dubey whose final effort rattled the upright.
In the 43rd minute Tarun Sporting’s Oneil K. and Priyesh Rajput combined well to create a move which Oneil K. chipping towards the goal but it went away from the goal and they missed a good chance.
Another spectacular chance was missed by Ziya Shaikh in the 46th minute when he smashed his shot against the left goalpost and it was rebounded.
Another chance was missed in the last few minutes by Tarun Sporting’s Nayeem Hassan when his lifted shot from close range went few feet above the cross bar. The grounded shot could have helped them to earn a point.
With the final whistle the game ended with Tarun Sporting qualifying for the quarter finals. Their score could have been much higher but they missed many changes during the whole game.
