Tarun Sporting breezes past Charkop United

In a close encounter between Tarun Sporting vs Charkop United, the former defeated the latter 1-0 in MDFA 3rd division play-off quarter finals and booked their place in semi-finals in order to gain promotion to division 3. Kashif Bagdadi’s goal on 17th minute proved to be the decider when he lobbed his effort over Charkop United’s goalkeeper Yogesh Salor.

Both the teams had their chances in first half but none of their efforts were good enough to beat either of the goalkeepers. The deadlock was broken midway into the first half when Kashif Bagdadi received the ball from right flank, he calmly lobbed his effort over the goalkeeper to give Tarun Sporting a vital lead.
Into the second half, Charkop United dominated as expected. They created numerous chances but their lack of finishing in front of goal proved to be fatal. Charkop United nearly scored when Harsh Shah’s effort hit the post and came into Meet Pandya’s path; he rolled the ball towards Amey Menon whose effort was easily saved by Tarun Sporting’s goalkeeper.

Another chance was wasted when Charkop United’s attacker Meet Pandya broke the offside trap and with only the goalkeeper to beat, his shot was saved brilliantly by Tarun Sporting’s goalkeeper.

With only minutes to go, Charkop United pushed all their players upfront to equalize which would take the match into penalties, which is quite a kind of lotteries since its inception but with tight marking and proper composure from Tarun Sporting’s defenders, Charkop United failed to capitalize.
