Tarun Sporting and Sagar Mitra Mandal fail to fire

Tarun Sporting and Sagar Mitra Mandal had to settle for 0-0 draw in the 3rd division match of MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) at St Xavier’s ground, Parel on 25 March 2015.

During the first 10 mins there was no sign from either team to score goal. The movement of the ball was only from mid field to the net but the players from opponent team stopped the ball and tried to move it towards their box.

In the 12th minute Tarun Sporting’s, Jermaine Pires gave a long range shot but he failed to make it on the target as the goalkeeper made a good save.

4 minutes later Sagar Mitra Mandal’s Aditya Bhanushali gave a chip at Sarvesh Puttran. He ran along with the ball towards the goal but it was adjudged offside so they failed to score.

In the 16th minute Sagar Mitra Mandal’s Aditya Bhanushali & Shubham Loke exchanged passes & Aditya Bhanushali shot only for the goalkeeper to make a good save. It was a good chance for Sagar Mitra Mandal to score but they failed to get o the scoresheet.

In the 19th minute it was a throw in for Sagar Mitra Mandal. The left winger tapped in and shot but it went wide away from the goal.

There game had a slow tempo as the players did not look confident while playing. And hence they failed on many occasions to pass to the right player.

At the end of first half both the teams were parallel at 0-0. Both teams missing a bag full of chances to score.

In the second half lack of teamwork between both the teams made it all the more difficult to score even after getting easy chances.

In the 23st minute Tarun Sporting’s Shib Thakur shot a long range ranger from the midfield. Sreenath Maji tapped it from 6 yards and shot but his shot change the direction and it landed outside the field.

In the very next minute Sagar Mitra Mandal’s Omkar Surum got a pass which he tapped at his left and shot from 6 yards. It did not reach the goal as it was directed in the wrong direction.

In the 28th minute Sagar Mitra Mandal’s Omkar Surum again got a chance to score but he missed to capitalize.  It was a long range shot from midfield and hence goalkeeper made a save by collecting the ball at the correct time.

Sagar M.M put in some reckless tackles and they were made to pay in the 35th minute for an unfair behavior when Akash Kanade earned his first yellow card.

In the 30th minute Sagar Mitra Mandal got a corner kick which got headed by too players & was directed into the goal. Firstly the players rejoiced after finding the ball in the net, later to be found that it was a foul. The players not ready to accept the decision made by referee Cajeton Dias.

Led to a bit of argument at the end of the game but it was solved in an amicable manner.

At the end of the game no team scored a goal and both had to settle for 0-0 draw.
