Striker Salin scores 2 good goals for Customs

Hard-working and energetic striker Francisco Salin showed his scoring prowess with two clinical goals to steer Mumbai Customs to a 3-1 victory against a spirited Indian Navy in an Elite Division matches of the MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) League – 2014-15, played at the Cooperage ground, on Sunday.

Besides Salin’s twin strikes nippy and diminutive winger Deepak Irmali scored the third goal to secure Customs win and the full three points. Priyo Kumar Sharma netted the lone goal for the Indian Navy.

Customs defender Raj Shera picked a second yellow card late in the match and was sent off in the first minute of additional period.
Meanwhile, both the Elite Division matches played at the Goan Sports Association Ground, finished in 1-1 draws. Companeroes Sports Club put up a strong display to hold Western Railway and later G.M. Sports and Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers shared the honours.

Results – Elite Div: Mumbai Customs 3 (Francisco Salin 2, Deepak Irmali) beat Indian Navy 1 (Priyo Kumar Sharma).

Companeroes SC 1 (Arun Patil) drew with Western Railway 1 (Anil Pawar).

G.M. Sports 1 (Michael Idewele) drew with Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers 1 (Kevin Patrick).
