Salsette F.C ‘B’ pass Charother Rukhi Challenge

Salsette F.C ‘ B’ get past Charother Rukhi in the qualifying stage of Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA) by a margin of 2-0 in the match held at Xavier’s Ground ‘Parel’ on July 14.

Sahil Mukane and Ravi Shetty were phenomenal from the very start and scored for Salsette F.C in the 23rd and 32nd minute respectively.

Sahil Mukhane had missed a lot of chances individually in the initial 15 minutes of the game but soon made up for the deficit with a goal just 2 minutes before the first half.

Charother Rukhi needed some aerial passes to penetrate Salsette midfield which they failed and Sahil used the opportunity and made a run and dribbled past Charother goalkeeper Rahul Solanki and passed Ravi who tapped the ball in for second goal.

Rahul solanki was the saving grace for under pressure Charother and even denied Salsette another goal for a corner kick and after that the match stopped for a few minutes in the 43rd minute as the Chrother FC Head coach assaulted young referee Roman Julius as he thought the referee made too many wrong decisions which cost his side the game.

It was a rather unacceptable behavior from Hasmukh Baria, who is also a committee member of the MDFA. On the other hand, it was a good learning curve for the young referee after officiating a high pressure and high intensity game.

As the Final whistle blew, Charother Rukhi had to face the inevitable 2-0 defeat against Salsette F.C. ‘B’.
