Mumbai City sign I-League winner Soni Norde

Mumbai City have announced the signing of Haiti International and Mohun Bagan winger Soni Norde for the second season of the Indian Super League in their press release today.

Soni Norde played a huge part in Mohun Bagan’s march to I-League glory this season after scoring 11 goals for the Champions.

Soni was by far the pick of the players in this season’s I-League and gave opposition full backs nightmares all throughout the campaign.

He also recently represented Haiti National team in the CONCAAF Gold Cup.

Soni expressed his delight for signing for Mumbai City and is eager to get into the thick of the things. “I’m extremely haqppy to have signed for Mumbai City FC. The ISL is a new challenge for me and I am eager to start training with the team for the pre-season”.

Norde’s arrival adds to the already potent looking Mumbai City strike force which is likely to be spearheaded by Nicholas Anelka and Sunil Chhetri.

Mumbai City also retained Pavel Cmovs who was a rock in Mumbai City’s defence last season, helping them to six clean sheets last season.

The Czech who played for Bulgarian outfit, Levski Sofia also displayed his happiness at having another stint in the ISL.

“I am delighted to be backat Mumbai City FC. We had really fantastic fans last year and this time we want to give them a lot more joy than last time around”.

Mumbai City are building up really nicely for the second season of the ISL and the Nicholas Anelka coached team seems to be taking a really solid shape
