Sahar Silver Star complete a 4-1 win over Khalsa Gym

In a late kick off, Sahar Silver Star defeated Khalsa Gym 4-1 to strengthen their position in division 2 of Mumbai District Football Association, held at Xaviers ground, Parel.

The first half was decent for both the teams as chances were created by both the sides but with organised defence and poor finishing the score remain still for the first thirty five minutes.

Player of the match, Abbas Sayed of Sahar Silver Star was outstanding as he kept dictating the play for the boys in yellow but they were unfortunate to score in first half.

In the second half, Sahar Silver Star struck twice in two minutes to settle things down between the two sides as Subin Varghese scored past the goalkeeper comfortably, not once but twice.

Sahar Silver Star didn’t looked back as they were trying hard for the third goal, but they themselves ended up conceding when Khalsa Gym scored from counter.

Akram Shaikh’s precise through ball found Mayank Dohre who placed his shot at the bottom left corner to cut short the deficit.

In search of the equalizer Khalsa later conceded twice as Sahar Silver Star completes their rout. The third goal of Sahar Silver Star was nothing but pure magic from Samjet Roy; he ran down from the right wing and went past three defenders and eventually rounded off the goalkeeper and scored it comfortably.

The fourth came right at the end when Sumeet Saghwekar scored from rebound, with initial shot coming from Sheldon Alfonso.

Khalsa Gym did have showed energy but it wasn’t enough to overcome Sahar Silver Star.
