Rampant Mumbai FC U-17 too strong for Young Boys B

Mumbai FC U-17 were dominant from the outset as they thrashed Young Boys B 3-0 in the 3rd division of the Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA) in a match held at the Karnataka Sporting Association Ground on Tuesday, 28th April 2015.

Mumbai FC wasted no time in getting out of the blocks and won a free kick in just the 2nd minute. Jay Sahani delivered a delicious cross from the free kick but unfortunately for Mumbai FC it just evaded its strikers.

Mumbai FC continued to dominate the ball possession as Troy D’Souza missed a great chance to put Mumbai ahead after he failed to tap in from six yards out in the 5th minute.

Mumbai FC’s dominance was eventually rewarded in the 17th minute when Kishen Dubey headed home from just yards out after Cyrus Karbhari cushioned a cross in his path.

The goal opened the floodgates as Mumbai FC netted their second goal after they won the ball on the half line, which allowed midfielder Calvin Baretto to drive at the Young Boys defence and release Cyrus Karbhari on the right wing who perfectly squared it to Harsh Solanki who made no mistake in finishing in the empty net from six yards to put Mumbai FC 2-0 up.

It got better for Mumbai FC as Cyrus Karbhari who assisted for the previous goals popped up to add a third goal in the 24th minute.

Mumbai FC went in at half time with a healthy 3-0 lead and Young Boys had left themselves with all to do in the second half.

Young Boys tightened up a bit in the second half making it a bit of a contest but they did not find any joy against the strong defence of Mumbai FC.

Kishan Dubey was unlucky not to add a fourth goal for Mumbai FC in the 37th minute when his shot struck the woodwork. Unfortunately, Mumbai FC failed to score from the rebound.

The Mumbai FC Custodian nearly made a mess of a regulation catch and allow Young Boys to get on the scoresheet but the alert Mumbai FC rearguard bailed their goalkeeper out in the 42nd minute.

Young Boys avoided any further damage as they went down 3-0 to Mumbai FC U-17 despite a much improved second half showing.

Alex Ambrose’s side were full value for the three points after being in control of the game from the very first minute
