Football Counter POTM: Param Sabani, Cathedral & John Connon School

Param Sabnani has become a key player for Cathderal and John Connon School ‘Fort’ and has been one of the lead strikers for his team as well.

Param has been consistently performing in his match. He even scored 2 goals for his team against St. Anne’s high school ‘Orlem’ in their 3-0 win in the quarter finals of Mumbai Schools Sports Association (MSSA) on 10th August.

Cathedral and John Connon School played their Semifinals today at Cooperage aganinst Hansraj Moraji and Param was all over the game from the very first minute.

The play maker kept the Hansraj Moraji team on toes during the game. He was quick on the field and made a couple of Chances for his side.

His Swift passing skills and his height, were added advantage. he won a lot of balls back from the Hansraj players but sadly failed to score. His command over the game and his ability to play in all positions makes him a striker to look out for.

Nelson Sebastian, Coach of Cathedral and John high School ‘Fort’ speaking on Param told, ” Param was not a Footballer, originally he was a tennis and basketball ball player. Param was spotted in the interhouse matches held at Cathedral during April and was selected for the team.”

In the past 4 months, Param has trained hard though his team lost to Hansraj Moraji in the Semi’s narrowly by 1-0. Lack of practice on the artificial turf had drained him in the second half.

Param himself admitted, “We were the better team but a silly mistake cost us the game.”
