PIFA student impresses at Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace Coach Mark Bright with Mumbai's 15yr old Dhruvmil Pandya, the Play for Palace winner

PIFA student from the Elite program has earned himself a yearlong sponsorship at Crystal Palace according to a release from the All India Football Federation (AIFF).

In mid December 2014, Dhruvmil Pandya participated in the Crystal Palace FC talent hunt “Play for Palace” organised at the BPL Park at BKC. He won the trip of a lifetime to train at the Crystal Palace Academy amongst over 200 participants impressing the judges, one of them being ex England International – Robbie Fowler.

He also participated in the Leicester City FC clinic organised by the “PIFA Foundation for the benefit of Sports” during that period and impressed the LFCF coaching staff.

15 year old, Dhruvmil Pandya has impressed the PIFA coaching staff to earn a place in the PIFA Sports team that played in the West Zone AIFF I league U19 tournament held in December 2014 to January 2015 as well as for the U17 MDFA 2nd division team played from October 2014 to April 2015.

Pandya had two short stints with the AIFF regional academies. He underwent training in Navi Mumbai and Goa prior to proceeding to Crystal Palace for the trials.

Another impressive player from the PIFA U15 squad Kamran Ansari from Madanpura was also called for the AIFF 2017 U17 probable’s in February 2015.

“The quality of the PIFA training program is showing impressive results, we are greatly encouraged to see these outstanding results of our various programs. We wish Dhrumvil and Kamaran all the very best and hope they play for India in the U17 World Cup in 2017”. PIFA Technical Director Nirvan Shah.
