Brainy World top Group A in the U-19 Colaba Super League
In a thrilling display from U19 players in Colaba Super League at back garden, Naaz United and Brainy World qualified for the next round from Group A after some scintillating performance by both the teams. Golden Tiger and Hina Royals are eliminated but they did perform at very high level.
Brainy World defeated Hina Royals 2-0 with goals from Akash Jadhav and Dinyanshu Patil in second half of the match. Akash Jadhav proved to be the main man for Brainy World as he dominated the whole match single handedly. Akash could have scored more but with terrific saves from Hina Royals goalkeeper, Akash couldn’t manage to score more.
The match of the day proved to be between Naaz United and Hina Sons, Naaz United came back from 2-0 down to win 3-2 and eventually book their place in next round.
Bhavesh Maher and Yogesh Singh made the score 2-0 against Naaz United before they could even think of executing their next move but Naaz United came back strongly. With 15 minutes to go, Naaz United scored three times to snatch the match from Hina Royals Hand. Kashif Sayyed opened the scoring for Naaz United with a thunder bolt strike which went into the top right corner, few minutes later, Shubham Jadhav was fouled in the box leading to a penalty for Naaz United.
Kashif Sayyed stepped up and blasted his shot in right corner making it all square. There was one more twist left, in the dying minutes of the match, through a corner Naaz United’s defender Shlok Rawt scored in a very complicated situation where nine of the players were inside the box, somehow the ball came in Sholk’s path and he calmly finishes it and sent Naaz United into the next round.
In the last match of the day, Brainy World met Golden Tigers. Golden Tigers needed to win by two goals margin to secure their place in next round but both the team cancelled out each other in 0-0 draw.
Brainy World topped the group with five points (+2 GD), Naaz United just below them with five points (+1 GD), Hina Royals on third with three points and at the bottom, Golden Tigers with two points.
