Mumbai FC U-17 inch closer to glory after defeating R.C.F. Colony Boys 2-0

Mumbai FC under 17 team defeated RCF colony 2-0 in the 3rd Division Quarterfinals MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) as Abhishek Patil and Melroy Assisi scored in the 2nd and 32nd minute Respectively and helped Mumbai FC secure a place in the Semifinals to be held tomorrow at Xavier’s Ground Parel.

2 minutes into the game and even before R.C.F Colony players could settle in, the first goal came in the form of a defense lapse by R.C.F. Colony Boys defender which Abhishek Patil used in his favor to score the first goal of the day.

A goal behind R.C.F. Colony tried to return back in the game soon after and were in mood to Battle all out. But Mumbai FC U-17 were quick to counter attack every R.C.F. Colony attempt at Goal.

A minute left for the first half to end and Abhishek Patil had the chance to score the second goal for his team as well but the Volley got deflected as hit the crossbar.

Both the teams used the length and breadth of the field beautifully to launch attacks at each other but second goal came after Danesh Singh landed himself a yellow card in the 31st minute. R.C.F. Colony Boys suffered another blow as Melroy Assisi converted the Direct Free Kick given into a goal.

Though R.C.F. had a strong Midfield they couldn’t recover after that and as the final whistle blew Mumbai FC Under 17 had registered a 2-0 win over R.C.F. Colony Boys and are through to Semifinals.
