Mumbai City FC’s Ashutosh Mehta calls for more support from the Mumbai fans

Mumbai City FC take on defending Champions Atletico de Kolkata in the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) later today. Mumbai City FC are in sublime form going into the game and have a great chance to push Atletico de Kolkata in further trouble, after the Champions come into the game having lost all of their previous three games.

Mumbai City FC have been enjoying home advantage and making the most of it, much to the joy of their fans who ave been flocking the D.Y Patil stadium. Local boy Ashutosh Mehta who has regularly featured for Mumbai City FC at the right back position, declared his pleasure at the amount of support his team have received in their home matches so far. “It has been very pleasant to see the crowds turning up and cheering for us at the D.Y Patil stadium. They have really motivated us and helped us turn a tough situation. The team is delighted with the fans that it has,” said Ashutosh Mehta while speaking at the pre-match press conference in Mumbai on Saturday.

Mehta recalled a moment during Mumbai City FC’s game against Delhi Dynamos where he came on for Aitor Lopez and the crowd gave him a wonderful reception. He called it a special moment for him and his team. “It was warmed to see the crowd make such a loud cheer for me. It was indeed a special moment for me. They have been wonderful and given the team a very special experience,” expressed Ashutosh.

The former Mumbai FC defender went on to reveal how much of a learning curve this ISl season has proven to be for him and disclosed his happiness at being part of Mumbai City FC. “So far it has been a great experience. We have worked hard, trained hard and personally I have learnt a lot from this season. We are now preparing hard for the next game and hopefully we are able to win it.”

Ashtutosh Mehta called for the Mumbai City fans to pour into the stadium for all of their remaining games and completely fill the stadium. He appealed to the Mumbaikars to keep cheering them the way they have and help them achieve even better results. “I want to request all the Mumbai City fans to keep coming in and supporting us and fill the stadium completely. We need you to bring the cup home,” said Ashutosh Mehta as he called on his fellow Mumbaikars to get into the stadium and cheer his team to glory.
