Mumbai, 02nd September 2015:  Mumbai City FC has commenced their preparations for the 2nd edition of the Hero Indian Super League. They arrived in Dubai on 25th August for their pre-season and have been going through a rigorous training regime since then.
Mumbai City FC will be playing against Baniyas FC come the 4th of September, another local Dubai side on the 6th and Emirates club on the 9th before returning to India. The team will also be travelling to Sharjah and Abu Dhabi as part of their pre-season tour. Sunil Chhetri, Subrata Paul and few others will be joining the squad in Dubai on 9th Sep, post their World Cup qualifier match against Iran, scheduled for the 8th of this month, in Bangalore. The team will be back from the tour on 12th Sep.

Nicolas Anelka, Mumbai City FC’s marquee player-cum-manager will be supported by Assistant Coach, Óscar Bruzón. Their approach towards their players will be one that enables familiarity among players so that they gel well and explore their strengths and areas of improvement. The duo believes this will help the team develop their game and help them prepare before taking on FC Pune City in the inaugural match of ISL Season 2.

Nicolas Anelka, Marquee player cum manager, Mumbai City FC said that “This is an excellent start to our ISL season 2 preparations. The facilities are great here in Dubai and the team seems to be getting along and gelling well with each other in just the first week of pre-season. It’s the first time that some of the international boys are meeting the entire team and the entire experience has been great for everyone. Our target is for the entire team to be in the best possible shape by the time we reach Mumbai and we all are working very hard towards it.”

The 2nd edition of the Hero Indian Super League begins on 3rd October in Chennai. Mumbai City FC will play their first match against FC Pune City at Shree Shiv ChhatrapatiSports Complex Stadium, Pune on 5th October.
