Kenturians F.C and Christ Church F.C settle for a goalless draw

Kenturians F.C and Christ Church F.C settled for a goalless draw in the 3rd division match of MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) at St Xavier’s ground, Parel on 5th May 2015. Both the teams had plenty of chances but neither scored.

Kenturians F.C had most of the ball possession during the first half of the game. Kenturians F.C made attempts to take lead in 7th minute from a corner kick when Aniket Mangela snatched the ball from Christ Church F.C’s left winger and shot at the goal but his attempt was wasted as his shot went over the cross bar.

Aniket Mangela had a prominent role in this game as he made all possible attempts to direct his shot towards the goal.

5 minutes later Kenturians F.C’s Purushotam made a good attempt to direct his shot into the target. His long range shot went flying over the cross bar.

Christ Church F.C‘s Erenna Vadari aptly tried to smash a shot from within their box in 17th minute but his shot was blocked by Anshul Vasvani. Anshul V defended well  and saved a certain goal.

The first half was under Kenturians F.C’s control but they failed turn it into a valuable chance. At the end of first half it seemed that Kenturians F.C should have been in the lead as they missed many chances

Kenturians F.C’s dominance faded as the game progressed and both the teams became aggressive under pressure.

Kenturians F.C’s Aniket Mangela missed to convert the Free kick into a goal. Christ Church F.C’s Abdur Rehman’s header changed the direction of his shot as the ball rebounded out.

Christ Church F.C’s Shubham Patil’s crisp shot was well saved by goalkeeper in the 27th minute. Shubham Patil smashed the ball from 6 yards but goalkeeper’s quick responsiveness helped to make a save.

Eventually both teams had to settle for a draw, but Kenturians were slightly the better team thanks to their first half performance
