Kenturians edge past Kapadia Nagar; Geostanne and MTNL draw blanks

Kenturians F.C overcame Kapadia Nagar S.C 2-1 in a 3rd Division match of the Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA) played at the Karnataka Sporting Association on Tuesday, 28th April 2015.

Kailash Damkar was the star for Kenturians F.C as his brace proved to be the difference between the two sides.

Both the teams took a while to get going as the heat and humidity made the players struggle early on. Bu Kailash Damkar found his feet and put Kenturians in front in the 16th minute.

But their joy was short lived as Kapadia Nagar hit back just three minutes later when Nishad Mashelkar got them on level terms with a well taken equalising goal.

This set up an entertaining finish to the first half but neither team could find the net as the teams went into the break level pegging at 1-1.

But Kenturians struck early on in the second half through Kailash Damkar who got his brace with fine finish in the 26th minute.

Despite great efforts by Kapadia Nagar, Kenturians held on to their early second half lead to register a hard fought victory.

Later in the day, Mahanagar Telephone Nigam (MTNL) S.C drew 0-0 with Geostanne S.C in another 3rd Division game at the Karnataka Sporting Association ground. Neither team could manage to conjure up a decisive moment and had to settle for a point a piece.
