JSW’s late strike dumps Dadar XI

JSW left it late to secure a 1-0 win against Dadar XI in the 2nd Division of the Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA) at St. Xavier’s Ground on Thursday, 27th August 2015.

JSW were quick out of the blocks as Girish Gupthan threatened to breach the Dadar XI defense in the 4th minute but Dadar’s Sanket Pradhan was alert to the danger and stopped Gupthan in his tracks.

Few minutes later it was Dadar’s turn to make their presense felt in the game when Vaibhav Ghamre neatly won the ball in midfield and fired a shot at goal which thundered against the crossbar before going out.

JSW too rattled the woodwork in the 14th minute through the in-form Omprakash Jaiswar, when his long ranger kissed the left hand side post.

After some early fireworks, the half fizzled out later on and ended goalless.

JSW’s goalkeeper was called into action early in the second half when he did brilliantly to keep out Arvind Maygeri’s effort in the 37th minute.

Dadar XI’s Sanket Pradhan and Aditya Raju’s intricate play saw Vaibhav Ghamre through on goal in the 54th minute, but the forward failed to control the ball, allowing the goalkeeper to charge forward and clear the danger.

But just as the game seemed to be heading for a goalless draw JSW’s Jaihind Pal popped up with the winner after he headed home a Omprakash Jaiswar cross five minutes from time as his team mates rejoiced.

JSW’s determination and ability to dig deep, got them over the line in an extremely tight contest against Dadar XI who would be kicking themselves for their lack of concentration during that crucial moment which cost them the game.
