JSW Steel cling on to a draw against We Care Foundation

JSW Steel had to weather a second half storm from We Care Foundation to hold them to a 1-1 draw in the 2nd Division of the Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA) at the St.Xavier’s Ground on Sunday, 22nd August 2015.

The first half was an even contest, but it was JSW Steel who took the lead in the game in the 17th minute through Omprakash Jaiswar as the forward continued his rich vein of form this season.

We Care were very much in the game and had a few chances to level the scores, but JSW held firm to take a half time lead in the game.

But We Care came out all guns blazing in the second half, inspired by their coach Gary’s half time team talk and took the game to JSW straight away. We Care were instantly rewarded for their second half resistance when Mitesh equalized for We Care Foundation from a set piece.

Buoyed by their equaliser, We Care found their mojo and peppered the JSW box. We Care created plenty of problems for the JSW side with their intricate combination plays, which made the Steel men chase shadows at time.

But the men in blue were able to somehow sustain the pressure and clung onto a hard fought point. We Care did well to get back into the game in the second half but could be pardoned for being disappointed for not picking up all three points.

We Care Foundation side showed plenty of promise as they need most of the things rightly in the second half. They are definitely a side to watch in the MDFA Leagues and one for the future. it won’t be surprising if they climb up the divisions in the near future.
