Indi Italia reach the SNFC & OMFG.in Cup Final
Indi Italia made it to the Final of SNFC & OMFG.in Cup from Pool A after racking up several victories in earlier knock-out rounds before a Ligil Fernandes brace helped them to a 2-0 win over The Oriented in semi-finals held at the Nahur Ground in Nahur on Saturday, 11th July 2015.
Kicking off the day with a 1-0 win in the first knock-out round, Indi Italia grew into the tournament as they brushed HFC 2-0 in the Quarter Finals. Their task was cut-out against the solid Oriented side in the semi-finals.
But after some tight opening exchanges, Ligil Fernandes’ low drilled effort gave the Indi Italians the breakthrough and they never looked back from there.
Despite some phases of pressure from The Oriented, the Indi Italians kept them at bay and eventually sealed their passage to the Final as Ligil Fernandes popped up again to complete a 2-0 victory.
The Indi Italians have already presented teams from Pool B which will be playing tomorrow a real force to reckon with in the Finals.
Losing finalists The Oriented also displayed some good football throughout the day, but fell short against the Indi Italians resulting in their demise from the tournament.
Pool B matches will commence tomorrow from 10 am in the morning, before the grand final will be played in the evening. After an entertaining days play in Nahur, tomorrow promises to be even more breathtaking with the wait for the winners of the SNFC & OMFG.in Cup finally coming to an end.
