ICL Youngstars’ late surge sees off Poinsur Gymkhana

Another game of soccer on ST. Xavier’s ground of Parel took place when ICL Youngstars beat Poisur Gymkhana by 3-0 on the ignited noon of Monday. Both the teams practiced hard before getting into the match. The match was a saga of expectations as the teams looked confident and determined in the first half of the match. The ICL youngstars started the game with the normal pace when Poisur Gymkhana intruded their moves in the first segment of the game.
In the 13th minute of the game Harsh Walia was quite impressive with his tempting skills in the goalless post. The keeper went wide away of the post to deflect the ball but ended up leaving his own arena. The defender with jersey no. 15 showed a tremendous enthusiasm in the game. Poinsur Gymkhana missed a good chance to take the lead in the 20th minute of the game.
The ambitious teams were well charged till the end of the first phase of the game but were not achievable enough in scoring the first goal for their teams. Akshay Ansunkar attempted an effortless free kick ten minutes before the end of the first phase of the match. The ball sailed just above the the Goalpost. The competitive first half ended with no score on the scoreboard.
The second half began with the same mode as both the teams surged themselves to score the first goal of the match. ICL Younstars controlled the game with their effective passing and formation. Poisur Gymkhana were also delightful with their moves but was not agile while striking the ball for the goal. The strikers of Poinsur constantly received several good chances to convert them for the first goal, but their players couldn’t pounce on them.
ICL Youngstars team was very quick and gazing while moving the ball. Their strong defence and firm midfield was effective enough to stop the Poisur Gymkhana from scoring. Ronak Thakkar proved a key player for his team as he succeeded in creating exceptional moves for his strikers. The 37th minute of the match proved to be turning point in the game when Akshay Agarwal another impressive midfielder of ICL Youngstars pushed the ball through the gap for the straight pass to Akshay Ansunkar who flawlessly converted the ball in the empty goal post of Poinsur Gymkhana.
This harsh lead put pressure on the Poinsur boys as the ICL Youngstars again achieved a clear goal while making constant attack on the opponents. Akshay Ansunkar a marvelous striker was impressive with his double strikes with two successful goals which put ICL 2-0 up. He grabbed the ball from the fellow striker and deflected easily inside the goal post. Two goals were enough to be heavy on the opponent Poisur Gymkhana but the midfielder Akshya Agarwal took the initiative this time to score the third goal of the game in the 46th minute of the game. His maturity reflected in the move which he created while making secured position in the box to score the expanding lead in the match. His score came just before three minutes of the end of the game. The second half ended with 3-0 while ICL Youngstars was successful in toying Poisur Gymkhana in the last intriguing twenty minutes of the game.
