Gritty Western Railways hold Mumbai Customs

Western Railways ended Mumbai Customs’ five match winning run as they held in the in-form Mumbai Customs 1-1 in the Elite Division of Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA) at Cooperage on Monday, 11th May 2015.

Customs who came into this game in red hot form started the better of the two sides as they got onto their crisp passing football early on to put some pressure on the Railwaymen.

But Western Railways stunned Mumbai Customs on 15 minutes when Ravikant Naidu fired them in the lead very much against the run of play.

But Customs took the setback in their side as they surged back on level terms just seven minutes later when the Mumbai Customs’ veteran Hemkat Singh scored the equalizing goal for Mumbai Customs.

Despite several attempts to steal the winning goal, neither team was able to do so and had to settle for a point a piece after the early vigour fizzled out.

The draw did stretch Mumbai Customs’ unbeaten run as they look to finish a really good season for them on the front foot with just one game left in their season after yesterday’s 1-1 draw.
