Hansraj Morarji Public School edge Utpal Sanghvi on penalties

Hansraj Moraji Public School ‘Andheri’ defeated Utpal Sanghvi School ‘Juhu’ 4-3 after a penalty shootout, in the Mumbai Schools Sports Association (MSSA) on 10th August in the Quarter Finals of the 2nd Division U-16 Boys. The game was tied at 1-1 after full time.

Hansraj Moraji didn’t face much trouble from the Utpal Sanghvi boys in the slow paced first half as they maintained most of the ball possession though failing to score.

The first goal of the day, came in the 40th minute from Karman Siddique of Hansraj Moraji assisted by fellow striker Abhishek Valiyankath as the Utpal Snaghvi defenders looked in terror as the ball entered for a goal.

Utpal Sanghvi also answered back 15 minutes later with a goal by Azhar Kalaniya and took the game to penalties.

In the Penalty shootouts, Kamran Siddique , Raihan Khan and Zaid Shaikh scored for Hansraj Moraji and Nishant Parekh and Rounak Sawant were the scorers for Utpal Sanghvi.

Also a scorer in regulation time apart from being the goalkeeper during the Penalties, Kamran Siddique dedicated his performance to his brother and Coach Raj Guru for motivating him throughout the match.

The all rounder added, “It feels great to win. We avenged our loss to them(Utpal Sanghvi) from three years ago”.
