Gritty Madanpura FC see off B.E.S.T
In what proved to be a nail biter, Madanpura FC narrowly overcame B.E.S.T 1-0 in their MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) 2nd division match held at the St.Xavier’s Ground in Parel on Tuesday 11th August 2015. Right winger, Kishan Singh scored just before half-time to give Madanpura FC an all-important win.
The first ten minutes of the match was nothing more than a build-up process, both the team took time and started to settle down as the game progressed.
Left winger, Rosenberg Gabriel caused havoc on the left flank after providing key passes and trying his luck from range, the opportunity started to increase but the lack of precise finishing caused both the teams to settle down for 0-0.
Just before the half-time, Madanpura FC got a corner which also eventually proved to be last action before the half-time, from the resulting corner Kishan Singh scored perfectly from his left foot from Aniket Jadhav’s corner to give Madanpura FC a vital lead just before the break.
Going to the second half with a narrowly 1-0 lead, Madanpura FC knew that the job isn’t complete yet and to finish the things off they had to score another to cool down the pressure.
Midway into the second half, B.E.S.T got the chance of the match to get the equalizer but it seemed that fate was not in their hands. Running down from the right wing, Prithviraj Bhikru provided a sensational low cross to Saurabh Lokhande which the latter even failed to touch.
With the goalkeeper on far post, Saurabh had the time to control and finish it easily but he failed to do so, causing B.E.S.T a huge setback.
The time was running down, it was all down to one moment which could have gone to either way.
Rosenberg Gabriel, for the whole second half played like a machine, popping key passes over the defence, cutting inside from left flank and causing a threat to B.E.S.T defender, it was him who carried all the efforts for Madanpura FC.
The score stayed as it is and it was Madanpura FC who overcame the mighty B.E.S.T.
