Goalkeeper Rutvik Kalaria’s heroics earns Singapore International a semi-final berth

Singapore International School defeated Army Public School 2-1 in the Quarter Finals of the 4th Division MSSA U-16 Boys held at MSSA grounds on 7th September 2015.

Singapore International School have participated in the MSSA U-16 Boys tournament for the first year and have been able to secure place in the Semifinals in their debut season.

Throughout the game, Singapore International gave tough competition to Army Public School and Challenged them for Penalties as both the teams failed to score by the end of full time.

It was a fight for the ball possession as both the Army Public School and Singapore International School attacked and Counter attacked but failed to score in the first half of the game.

In the second half, Army Public School had an excellent chance to take the lead in the form of a corner kick they had earned but Sarthak Dhandharia headed the fatal strike. For Army Public School, Dhruv Gurav was hardworking and cleared the ball to hold their opponents and force them into Penalties.

In the Penalties,Only Ahaan Kejriwal of Army Public School was able to get past the Singapore International Goalkeeper, Rutvik Kalaria. While Rutvik saved, Shivansh Tiwari, Paras Dhuliya, Yogesh Negl and Anirudh Singh’s penalty attempts.

On the other hand, Singapore International School’s Captain Harshwardhan Sharma and Hrishikesha Iyer scored as the Army Public School’s Goalkeeper Amaan Singh managed to save Neel Malhotra and Rutvik Kalaria’s attempts during penalties to defeat Army Public School 2-1.
