Glorians FC clinch the first stage of Knox Pro Soccer Cup 2015

The Pro Soccer Cup 2015 kicked off at Inorbit Turf (Malad) on Sunday in some style, teams from all over Mumbai tried their luck to go all the way and snatch the elusive throne which will command their place at the top.

Pro Soccer Cup will keep entertaining all the football lovers from now on, a total of 10 tournaments will take place in Mumbai and Pune alternatively to attract some crazy footballers from Mumbai and Pune.

The tournament consisted of 16 teams with a knockout round format where Glorians FC stole the bragging rights after defeating Blasters FC and were named the Champions of the first edition of Pro Soccer Cup 2015, held at Mumbai.

Police Headquarters and White Magics kicked off the tournament with some splendid football where the White Magics made an incredible comeback, being 3-1 down with only seven minutes to go, White Magics scored four past Police Headquarters to eventually win the match 5-4 and booked their place in Quarters.

Soon the intense of the tournament started to rose up, unlike the first match the rest of the matches in first round didn’t produce much goals but the quality displayed by the energetic players were top notch.

UK United, MYJ, Glorians FC, Radioshack, Blasters, Mean Machine all won their respective matches to earn their place in Quarters.

With only one spot left for Quarter Finals, it was all between Diego Warriors and Galacticos, the winner goes through and the other side, well, need to try next time.

Warriors started off brightly and soon scored to peel off the pressure but Galacticos replied back strongly and scored the equalizer with few minutes left.

The match went to penalties where Diego Warriors came out as victors; the stage was all set for the Quarters.

The first quarter final between UK United and MYJ was undoubtedly one of the best match of the tournament. Intensity, Passion, Will, the players had everything.

Both the teams fought for their lives and in the end it was MYJ who took the bragging rights as they won 3-1.

Though the final score was harsh on UK United as they performed brilliantly too.

Teams joining MYJ in semis were Glorians, Blasters and Mean Machines.

The clash of the titans – MYJ faced a much confident side, Glorians FC in semis.

Glorians opened the scoring early in the first half and with solid defending gave Glorians got a much needed advantage but with only moments away from the finals, a thunderbolt stroked Glorians from nowhere. MVJ scored with only couple of minutes left on the clock to send the match into penalties.

MVJ missed two of their chances which send Glorians all the way into the finals, with one of Mean Machines or Blasters to have a chance to join them.

In the second semis, Blasters unsuprisingly dismantled Mean Machines 7-3 to book their place in finals which justified their place in the top two teams of the tournament.

From 16 teams to just 2, Glorians FC took on Blasters to fight for the first ever Pro Soccer Final.

Early in the first half, Glorians took the lead as happened in their semi-final tie to keep pressure on Blasters but a second half goal made things equal.

Into penalties, Blasters missed three of their important spot kicks to give away the title to Glorians FC who not only won the Pro Soccer Cup but also got registered for the next tournament.

The second edition of Pro Soccer Cup 2015 will take place on 9th August in Pune.
