Dominant S.P Academy take Aadhar Pratishthan to the cleaners in the MDFA Women’s League

S.P. Football Academy produced a commanding display in their 7-0 thrashing of Aadhar Pratishthan in the MDFA Women’s League game held at the Karnataka Sporting Association ground on 29th January 2015. Akanksha Kandalkar scored four times as her side dominated from the very first minute.

The women from Kopar needed just 30 seconds to get in front when Akanksha Kandalkar’s shot somehow managed to sneak into the net after she tried to pick out a team mate and the pass went straight in.

S.P. Academy doubled their lead five minutes later when Akanksha Kandalkar was allowed to get on the end of a cross before she fired at the Aadhar Pratishthan goal as the ball went in off the crossbar despite a touch from the Aadhar Prastisthan goalkeeper.

S.P. Academy who had raced into a two goal lead were completely dominating the game as Aadhar Pratishthan failed to get out of their own half. S.P. Academy’s Abeer Arsiwala was having an inspired afternoon as she was at the center of everything which her team created.

S.P academy nearly added a third only to be denied by Sahili Kanhat who cleared off the line in the 21st minute. But they were not to be denied three minutes later when Karishma Vazzrani slotted home after profiting from a mix up which led to the ball falling in her path.

The half time whistle couldn’t have come at a better time for Aadhar Pratishthan as their players were tiring and they labored through majority of the first half.

The second half had a similar pattern like the first where S.P. Academy controlled all the possession. It took S.P. Academy twelve minutes to open up Aadhar Pratishthan again when Snehal Manchkar did well to chest the ball and fire home on the half volley giving the goalkeeper no chance whatsoever.

Akanksha Kandalkar completed her hat-trick in the 41st minute after she latched onto a free kick from Suman Salian in the box to finish past the Aadhar Pratishthan goalkeeper.

S.P. Academy made it 6-0 in the 45th minute when Snehal Manchkar scored again, this time with a glanced header which flew into the net. Four minutes later, Akanksha Kandalkar rounded off a fantastic afternoon for her and her team as got her fourth and her team’s seventh goal of the afternoon.

The writing was on the wall for Aadhar Partishthan when they conceded in the very first minute against a S.P. Academy who were ruthless and virtually put away everything that came their way.

Aadhar Pratishthan will need to sit back and assess what went wrong and also work on the team’s fitness before they take the next time around.
