D K Pharma dances its way to Victory by defeating St Pauls 3-2

D K Pharma Defeat St Pauls FC 3-2 in the 1st Division match of MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) held at Xavier’s ground, Parel on 19th February. The fierce competition between the two teams saw Ganesh, Himanshu and Bushan Patil score for D K Pharma facilitating them in their win.

The 1st goal of the day was conceded in the 2nd minute itself by the St Pauls FC, after a foul granted just outside the penalty area turned dangerous for them. The spot kick was taken by Ganesh who kicked the ball precisely out of the reach of Givish Solanki the goalkeeper of St Pauls.

Following the first goal, St Pauls tried to get back in the game. There were chances in the 10th minute itself to equalize as Marshal Francis just had to chip the ball as he ran from the centre line as Aftab managed to put the ball from left wing. The D K Pharma goalkeeper, Keegan successfully collected the ball.

Given second chance Marshal finally scored in the 14th minute with the help of Jagdish. Jagdish controlled the ball and passed it to Marshal who placed it into the bottom-left corner. Keegan did charge like he had done earlier, but this time he failed to stop the ball from entering the goal.

The first half ended with both the teams scoring 1 goal each. Shrey Sawant, of St Pauls missed chances for St Pauls to score due to which he got substituted in the start of the second half. In his place Daniel entered who later went on to assist a goal.

Marshal and Ganesh both looked eager to score for their respective teams so their team could take a lead.

In the 43rd minute, Shubham received a pass from the right wing player, which was missed by the striker facing the goalie. Not marked by St Paul defenders he entered from left flank and scored the Goal.

16 minutes later, Bushan Patil scores as inefficient defenders of St Pauls fumbled with the ball. He easily wins the ball and dribbles it past the defenders and kicks it at the bottom- left corner changing the score tally to 3-1. The D K Pharma team celebrated the goal with an impromptu dance near the corner post.

St Pauls score their 2nd goal in the 71st minute to save the grace as Daniel passed the ball between two D K Pharma defenders to Aftab who just directed the ball its way towards goal.

As the final whistle blew, D K Pharma 3 (Ganesh, Bushan, Himanshu) bt ST Pauls FC 2 (Marshal, Aftab)
