CSL Final Preview: Colaba awaits its first ever Champion

Colaba is indeed shining and has been shining for the past seven weeks. But after action packed forty five days of some grueling footballing action Colaba will come to a standstill on Friday evening when Brainy World and Kalakaar Indians will battle it out to be the first Champion of the Colaba Super League.

The battle will see a match-up between the league’s most consistent side and the form team in the league. Brainy World have dominated from the word go and barring a few hick-ups, have stormed into the final.

Kalakaar Indians on the other hand, brushed off a slow start and peaked at the right time to see them grab the honor of playing in the CSL Final.

With the league moving on from the Back Gardens Ground in Colaba to the iconic Cooperage stadium for the showpiece event, both teams would need to revise their plans according to the highly changed playing conditions.

Brainy World got the better of Kalakaar Indians when the two met each other on the opening week of the CSL. Brainy World ran out comfortable 3-1 winners on the day.

But history will hold little importance as Kalakaar Indians’ up-turn in form means Brainy World will not take the men in red lightly.

Both the teams come into the big game without any injury worries and with a full quota of players fit to take the field.

With a packed house expected tomorrow, it will be a moment to cherish for the two teams participating in the finals. The legendary Ratan Tata’s presence will come as a huge boost for the players who will look to put on a show.

The evening will kick-off with an exhibition match where the Press XI will lock horns with the Veterans (Coaches) XI. The game will kick off at 5:30 pm before the big game gets underway at 7 p.m.

The day has come for Colaba to shine the brightest, the day these players dreamt about, the day they will get to bask in glory, the day Colaba celebrates itself when the world watches on.
