Central Bank defeats Union Bank in a nail biter

In a battle of “Banks”, Central Bank defeats Union Bank 3-2 in a nail biting match. Russel Galbaro, Raj Bhor and Andrew scored for Central Bank whereas Shanon Periera and Pratik Koli scored for Union Bank.

It took Central Bank twenty odd minutes to open the deadlock when Russel Galbaro neatly finished under the goalkeeper to give Central Bank a vital lead. This was the start Central Bank’s manager Nasir Ansari were hoping for.

Though just before half time, a pin point low cross from Aaron D’Costa found Shanon Periera who placed his shot into the nets to make the score even. The score stayed the same for the rest of first half as both the banks cancelled each other out.

Just two minutes into the second half, Union Bank’s defender Tejas Raut received his first yellow card for a foul just outside the box, Raj Bhor converted a sensational free kick with his left foot which drastically curled on its way to goal, the goalkeeper couldn’t do much and it was no. 17 who gave Central Bank a huge advantage.

Eight minutes later, it was Andrew of Central Bank who made the score 3-1 when he received a long ball from Russel Galbaro. Andrew ran past his marker and calmly finishes it over the goalkeeper to give Central Bank a huge relief. Andrew was sensational throughout the match as he bossed the left flank for Central Bank, though he could have his brace when he missed a one on one chance later in the match.

Few minutes later, Union Bank defender Tejas Raut received his second yellow card and was send off. All the hopes of a comeback were shattering unless Pratik Koli scored for Union Bank decreasing the deficit to just one goal.
Into the last minute of the game when Union Bank got a corner, all they players were pushed up. A perfectly taken corner was headed by Pratik Koli which was cleared from the line by Central Bank’s captain, Lardoz Rahman.

That was the last piece of the match, Central Bank players would be proud of their performance.
