Bad Boys come back to sink Oberoi Hotel

A Mujib Sheikh led Bad Boys side were able to come from behind to beat Oberoi Hotel 2-1 in the 1st Division of the Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA) at St. Xavier’s Ground in Parel on Monday, 13th September 2015.

Mujib Shaikh inspired Bad Boys after an early set back as the forward netted a brace to turn things around for Bad Boys against a good Oberoi Hotel side.

Oberoi Hotel had a dream start to the game when they grabbed the lead through Conrad who fired a half volley home in the 6th minute. Oberoi looked to built on their solid start and put Bad Boys under extreme pressure in the first quarter of an hour, which resulted in a booking for Rahul of Bad Boys in the 14th minute.

But couple of minutes later, very much against the run of play, Bad Boys equalized when Mujin Shekh found the net with a fine curling effort after he was allowed to run at the into space and get in a position to shoot.

Despite being pegged back, Oberoi regained control towards the end of the first half and should have been back in front when Joji Joseph fired wide after a brilliant one-two between Gavin D’Mello and Clayton Pereira helped Joseph get in a good position.

Unlike the first half, Oberoi had a dreadful start to the second half as they conceded a second goal just seconds after the kick off in the second half. Mujib Sheikh was the scorer once again for Bad Boys as he helped his side get in front and change the complexion of the game.

Oberoi Hotel who found themselves trailing despite being the better team in the first half, almost equalized in the 58th minute when Atish Thapa failed to keep a Kevin Rodrigues cross on target.

A spirited display for Bad Boys in defence earned them crucial three points as defensive lapses cost Oberoi Hotel the game.
