A brace from Wellington Fernandes which include 25th fastest goal(9th second) in a football match, although the status of this record wont recognize. Along with Wellington Okorogor praise scored the 3rd goal to out play India Navy in an Elite division match of the Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA) league, played at Goans ground, Azad maidan on Sunday.

Air India’s N.D Opera and Indian Navy’s Vikramjeet

Fastest goal’s script begun with Siddharth Nayak who pass the ball to N.D. Opara cleverly lobbed over the Navy defenders for Wellington to head the ball and celebrate. Within 5 minutes after the break Wellington Fernandes strike again for Air India, this time N.D. Opera’s shot punched away by Navy’s goalkeeper Bhaskar but it went straight to Wellington for the celebration.

It was N.D. Opera who assist Air Inida’s increasing number on the score card. In the 81st minute, a long ball from half line trapped well by N.D to beat Navy’s defender Dalraj Singh and pass to Okorogor, he takes a shot which beat goalkeeper Bhaskar roy.  Indian Navy’s only chance to come back in the game got wasted when Sunil kumar’s cross headed out by Riyad from the small box.

In earlier match, Pifa Colaba comfortably beat Companeros S.C by 2-0. Zeeshan Shaikh 43 minutes and Ganesh Kamat 84 minutes goal earned them 3 points after 3 games.

IN another Elite division match, ONGC beat Kenkre F.C. [2 (Joel Sequeira 12th minutes, Karan Atwal 63rd minutes )-1 (Jagjeet Singh 28th minutes)]
