Rush Soccer lifts IWL Preliminary Round title

1st October 2017, Mumbai: WIFA Women’s League – Indian Women’s League (IWL) Preliminary Round concluded on Sunday evening as eventual Champions Rush Soccer and Football Leaders Academy (FLA) played out a goalless draw at Cooperage Stadium. Earlier on Sunday, Bodyline SC had thumped Kenkre FC 7-1, whereas, PIFA wrapped up their campaign with a 2-0 victory over Football School of India (FSI) on Friday evening.

On Friday evening, PIFA Sports continued their superb form to sink Football School of India 2-0 to record their third straight win and finish their campaign in the 4th position. Namrata Thakur displayed good anticipation and did well to capitalise on the chances that came her way to score the goals. The first goal came in the 17 minute and the second in the 57 minute as the PIFA outfit clinched all three points.

Moving forward to Sunday, in the first match of the day, Bodyline SC made a strong comeback after going down 1-0 as they notched up a superb 7-1 win against an in-form Kenkre FC side at Cooperage. The Girls in Yellow dominated the first-half with Mamta once again hitting a top form.

Combining with attacking midfielder Manisha, Mamta lived up to the expectations and opened the scoring in the 31st minute with a sublime goal, but Bodyline SC responded pretty well after conceding and levelled the score just before the half-time. The second-half turned out to be goals-galore.
