MDFA: SOSM edge past Marouli United FC in 2nd division

In 2nd division fixtures, CSL played out a draw against GKW Rangers while SOSM defeated Marouli United. In 3rd division, Holi Cross United edge Koli boys

3rd Division:

In a group D encounter of 3rd division game, Holy Cross United edged past Koli Boys by a solitary goal margin. Jackson Mhatray’s 22nd minute strike turned out to be the winner for Holi Cross United which shot them to the pole position in group D with 11 points in five games.

2nd Division:

In a group H game, CSL played out a 1-1 draw against GKW Rangers to share the spoils. Both teams came in to the game with a win and a loss and another win would have put either of them two points clear of the third spot and just one behind group leaders Silver Innings FC. However the game ended at 1-1 with both teams sharing a point each. Gaurab Shinde scored for CSL while Sheldon Menezes was on score sheet for GKW Rangers FC (A).

In a group E fixture SOSM faced Marouli United FC with the latter succumbing to its third straight defeat of the season. Bhavesh Rane opened the scoring for SOSM in the 14th minute before Jason D’cruz pulled Marouli United to level terms moments before half – time. However in the second half, Gyanendra Singh struck the second goal for SOSM to put them back on one goal lead. Despite late attempts from Marouli the game ended at 2-1 score line in favour of SOSM.
