MDFA 2nd Division: Dadar XI overcome Samuel FA to win 2-1
A strong second half show gave Dadar XI a 2-1 over Samuel FA while FC Mithagar edge out Athens XI courtesy a solitary goal from Devendra Thakurdesai in the 2nd division fixture
In the afternoon second division fixture, FC Mithagar faced Athens XI for a group D game. Coming from a loss in their opening games of the season, both teams needed a win get their 2nd division campaign back on tracks. But it was the 2nd minute goal from FC Mithagar’s Devendra Thakurdesai that turned out to be a winner giving FC Mithagar a 1-0 win.

In another second division game of the day, Dadar Xi and Samuel FA faced each other for a group A fixture. After going down by a goal in the first half Dadar XI came out with strong second half showing to win 2-1. Vinesh Walka struck a 17th minute goal to put Samuel FA in to lead as both teams went into break. However Dadar XI came back strong from the break scoring two quick goals within ten minutes to turn the tides. Clyde Cardoz and Donald Gibbs scored the two goals in the space of four minutes to make it 2-1 for Dadar XI.
