MDFA 2nd Division: Mihir Koppikar strikes a brace in GKW Rangers 2-1 win
In a close encounter, Ankit Gautam’s late strike gave IIT Bombay a 2-1 win over BEST A & SC while GKW Rangers win riding on Mihir Koppikar’s brace over Our Lady of Fatima
In the first 2nd Division game of the day, IIT Bombay started their campaign with a close 2-1 win over BEST Arts & SC in a group F fixture. Pranjal Amule’s strike in the 14tn minute opened the scoring for IIT Bombay which was followed by Praful Bhoir’s 25th minute strike that levelled the scores for BEST Arts & SC. However, late in the second half, Ankit Gautam found the net with five minutes to go, to put IIT Bombay back on lead. Despite best efforts from BEST A &SC in the final moments the score remained at 2-1 as the game ended.

After a goal less draw in the opening game, Our Lady of Fatima faced GKW Rangers FC in a group H fixture. Ravin Tanwar’s strike for Our Lady was cancelled out by Mihir Koppikar’s brace as GKW Rangers took a 2-1 lead in the game. The win propelled GKW to third spot from eight in group H table.
