Steadfast FC – Mumbai Rush SC vs PIFA Colaba ends in a 0-0 stalemate
Steadfast FC – Mumbai Rush SC hosted PIFA Colaba in the Under-16 Youth League Group B match at All Saints High School, Kalyan on Sunday evening. Both the sides had to settle for a 0-0 as they shared a point in this neck-to-neck encounter.
The corresponding fixture on 16th October also ended in a 0-0 draw at Cooperage Stadium. After this draw, Steadfast FC is still in the third position in Group B with five points in four games, whereas, PIFA Colaba is at the bottom of the table who are yet to win their first game.
The first-half was dominated by PIFA Colaba as they kept the majority of the ball possession and kept pressing Steadfast FC’s midfield to gain back the possession and to force an error while pressing high up the pitch. This strategy by Nagesh Swamy’s players started to inflict pressure on Steadfast FC.
PIFA Colaba’s star duo of Akash Jadhav, Captain of the side, and Akash C. Jadhav had a fantastic game for the boys in orange. Akash C. Jadhav had a fine game in a defensive role and as well as in attacking role. Both the Akash’s came agonizingly close to putting PIFA in front on numerous occasions but somehow Steadfast FC’s goalkeeper Ashray Gandhi and the backline stood firm to avoid any goals.
In the second-half, Steadfast FC improved their game and dictated the larger part of the half but it was PIFA Colaba’s turn to focus their game on defensive part. The boys in orange did well to clear any danger which was inflicted by Steadfast FC’s attacker, Cornelius Rodrigues and Jetra Chavda.
In the end, both the energetic sides had to settle for a draw in this close contest at All Saints High School.
