MDFA U-14 Youth League: Final Group Standings

The ongoing MDFA U-14 Youth League has seen the completion of Group Stage which will be now followed by Quarter-Finals where eight best teams so far from the tournament will face each other. The MDFA Under-14 Youth League 2016 is organised by the Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA), promoted by the Sporting Lions and the Technical Partners Mumbai City FC has been kicked-off from 2nd November onwards at Lions Municipal Sports Complex and MSSA Azad Maidan with over 40 teams participating in this extravaganza tournament. With the group stages already completed, let’s take a look at Group Standings:

Group Standings (Top team from each group qualified for the next round)

Group AGoans S.C finished at the top of Group A and more importantly they have qualified for the quarter-final stage. They have scored an incredible 23 goals so far in four games, conceding only once, and the Goans has won all their four games comprehensively. Goans S.C is followed by Mumbai United and Sellebrity who have seven points in three games. Kapadia Nagar is fourth with three points, whereas, Carmelites are yet to open their points tally.

Group B – Tournament favorites Mumbai FC stayed at the top of Group B after winning all their four games, gathering twelve points in the process. Vision Rescue finished in the second position with seven points followed by Rhema Sports Foundation who finished with five points, Steadfast with four points, and Indian Football Academy with zero points. Mumbai FC has also scored the most number of goals, scoring thirteen goals in four games.

Group CJ.J Academy qualified from Group C after winning all of their four games. They have scored a mammoth twenty-six goals so far and have conceded only three. The last 15 goals were scored in a single match when they hammered KSP Hydro in their last group game. Hegdenar Boys and Desperados are second and third respectively with nine and six points respectively in four games. KSP Hydro are fourth with three points and Veniza Virar failed to register a single point.

Group DPhoenix Sports won the decisive game 1-0 against Mumbai Warriors to replace them as the Group D leader to qualify for the quarter-finals with 12 points in four games, whereas, Mumbai Warriors finished with nine points in four games. Dadar XI, FC Mumbaikar are third and fourth six and three points respectively with Mangesh Sports Academy at the bottom of the table.

Group EM.S.S.A (Mumbai Schools Sports Association) finished as the group leader after winning all their four games. They have scored 221 goals in group stages. Sunday Boys (9pts in 4 games), Madanpura S.C (3pts), SP Academy (3pts), and PIFA (3pts) are second, third, fourth, and fifth respectively.

Group FSalsette and Kenkre both won their last group game 5-0 to end their group stage campaign on a winning note, but it was Salsette who qualified from Group F who had 10pts in four games. Kenkre FC finished in the second position with nine points. Bharat FC came third with six points, Young Boys are fourth with three points, whereas, Nav Nihal are at the bottom of the table.

Group G – I.C.L defeated Milan Football Academy 3-2 in the final game to qualify from Group G. ICL finished at the top with twelve points, whereas, Milan Football Academy finished second with six points, R.C.F are third with six points too, whereas, Shastri Nagar also with 6pts and Youth Soccer Academy came fifth with zero points.

Group HSagar S.C qualified from Group H with twelve points in four games, scoring 13 and conceding none. Alongside M.S.S.A, they are one of the two teams who are yet to concede. Bombay Gymkhana is second with nine points in four games followed by Maurya FC (3rd), Grey Athletic (4th), and Mumbai Strikers (5th).
