Indian Super League side Hyderabad FC have announced a historic two-year club partnership with German football giants Borussia Dortmund (BVB)

ISL’s latest entrant Hyderabad FC has announced a two-year club partnership with Borussia Dortmund in what could turn out to be an historic deal. The partnership has an option to extend for additional years with an extended scope until 2025.

“The partnership brings in good news for football supporters in India, as it shows a long-term commitment of one of the biggest German football brands to the Indian football ecosystem,” the club said in their release.

This isn’t the first time an European club has partnered with ISL side, earlier ATK were associated with Atletico Madrid, while Feyenoord partnered with Delhi Dynamos in the inaugural season, Fiorentina were associated with FC Pune City, while Atletico Madrid is currently associated with Jamshedpur FC. Last year, Bengaluru FC had announced their partnership with Scottish side Rangers FC. Most recently, Mumbai City FC was brought into the City Football Group, who also owns Manchester City, Melbourne City FC and New York City FC, among other teams.

With this announcement, Hyderabad FC have become the official ‘Club Partner’ of Dortmund in India, this is the German football giant’s fourth club partnership around the globe, after Thai Premier League club Buriram United, Australia’s NPL club Marconi FC and Japan’s Iwate Grulla Morioka.

The grand launch of this historic partnership will take place during BVB’s Virtual Asia Tour on 20th August and will be streamed live on Hyderabad FC’s social media channels.
