ISL 3: Another draw for Dynamos as the winless streak extend to five games
Despite dominating play throughout the game, Dynamos failed to secure all three points against the Pune side with a resilient Edel Bete between the stick as the Delhi registered their fourth draw in five games.
Of all the teams in ISL season 3, Delhi has probably the most impressive attacking unit but despite that goals have deserted the team as after six games, Dynamos have just seven points and are placed at sixth position, despite losing just one game. The story of this season for Delhi has been pretty much the same, barring the first game where they annihilated Chennai 3-1, Dynamos have managed four draws in five games: the team has managed to stitch up good moves but has failed to finish up at the final front.
Yesterday an Impressive Edel Bete denied delhi numerous chances of going in front before against the run of play in first half extra time, Tato put the visitors ahead with a looping header. Later on in the second half, Milan Singh finally managed to break Bete’s concentration as Delhi salvaged a point to show for their efforts.
Delhi made four changes bringing in young Soram Poirei for an experienced Toni Doblas between the sticks while Anas Edathodika replaced Konsham Singh at the defense. David Addy starting at the right-back while Emerson Moura coming in for Marcos Tebar. On the other hand, Antonio Habas made just a single change to his side as Gouramangi came in for Arata Izumi.
In the 3rd minute, Addy tried his luck from a distance but his shot went just wide. In the very next minute, Rupert Nongrum handled a good delivery on the far post to miss out on another opportunity. Edel was first tested when Milan Singh took a shot after receiving the ball from Malouda, but the Pune custodian did brilliantly well to tip over the shot from a deflection.
Few minutes later, Gadze inside the box did well to beat his marker and take a shot on turn but the former ATK and Chennaiyin keeper was alert again as he dived full length to his right to deny Delhi the goal. Throughout the first half Delhi continued to attack but failed to break a resolute Pune defence, especially Bete. But in the extra time of first half, Against the run of play, Pune went ahead when a cross from Beke was headed by Tato in to the far post the ball looping over the keeper hit the inside of the post before going in as both Soram and Anas scrambled and failed to clear it.
The first half ended with Pune taking an unexpected lead while Delhi had nothing to show for all their efforts.

Delhi came out all guns blazing in the second half as they looked for the equaliser but Bete was in top form as he once again denied Delhi with a full stretch diving effort to stop Ruben Rocha’s curling effort in the 47th minute. Marcelinho missed a golden opportunity when his shot went to side netting after beating the Pune custodian. Few minutes later another Marcelinho effort from a free kick went inches wide.
Finally in the 79th minute, Marcelinho, in the left wing, was brought down just outside the box by Narayan das. The resulting free kick saw Marcelinho pass the ball to Milan Singh whose Low shot missed everyone to go inside the post as Delhi celebrated a much deserved equalizer.
In the final minutes of injury time, Gadze once again got inside the box with his trade mark run but his final pass was missed by everyone as Delhi forwards failed to tap in with an open goal available.
The Match ended with 1-1 draw as Delhi moved to sixth point with Pune just behind at seventh.
