SC Delhi produced a spirited second-half comeback to defeat Jamshedpur FC 2-1 in a Group C fixture of the 135th IndianOil Durand Cup, with Lalrinliana Hnamte’s quickfire brace turning the contest on its head. The victory handed SC Delhi all three points, while Jamshedpur FC suffered another disappointing evening amid an emotional period for the club.

Jamshedpur FC started the contest brightly and looked determined to bounce back with a positive result. The Men of Steel controlled possession during the opening stages and were rewarded for their attacking intent when they broke the deadlock in the first half. The early goal gave the hosts confidence as they dictated the tempo and looked the more dangerous side going forward.

SC Delhi gradually settled into the game but struggled to break down a disciplined Jamshedpur defence before the interval. Although they enjoyed spells of possession, clear-cut opportunities were limited as Jamshedpur carried a deserved advantage into the halftime break.

The momentum shifted dramatically after the restart. SC Delhi emerged with greater purpose and began to push higher up the pitch, asking more questions of the Jamshedpur backline. Their persistence eventually paid off when Lalrinliana Hnamte found the equaliser, breathing fresh life into the contest.

Just minutes later, Hnamte struck again to complete a remarkable turnaround. The midfielder reacted quickest inside the penalty area to score his second goal in the space of five minutes, leaving Jamshedpur stunned and putting SC Delhi in front for the first time in the match.

Jamshedpur attempted to respond in the closing stages by committing more players forward in search of an equaliser. The hosts created a few promising moments but were unable to find a way past a resolute SC Delhi defence that stood firm under sustained pressure.

The final whistle confirmed an important 2-1 victory for SC Delhi, with Lalrinliana Hnamte’s match-winning brace proving to be the difference between the two sides. The result gives SC Delhi valuable momentum in Group C, while Jamshedpur FC will be left disappointed after surrendering a first-half lead in what was another difficult night for the former Indian Super League champions.
