The Mumbai Premier League clash between Mumbay FC and PIFA saw a determined young PIFA side produce a commanding performance against a Mumbay FC team that was aiming to climb higher in the standings with a win.

The first half was a tightly contested affair with both teams showing strong attacking intent while remaining organised defensively. Opportunities came at both ends, but neither side could find the finishing touch for most of the half. The breakthrough finally arrived in the 45th minute when Atharva reacted quickest after the Mumbay FC goalkeeper saved an initial attempt. The forward pounced on the rebound and slotted the ball home to give PIFA a 1-0 lead heading into the break.

PIFA carried the momentum into the second half and struck again in the 56th minute. Pandey, who has already registered a hat-trick earlier this season, capitalised on another rebound after the keeper parried the first shot, calmly finishing to double the lead.

The young side continued to grow in confidence and added a third in the 63rd minute. Veteran substitute Allan made an instant impact, scoring a stunning goal just moments after coming off the bench to further extend PIFA’s advantage.

Mumbay FC struggled to regain control of the match and looked unable to find a response as PIFA dominated proceedings. The pressure continued late into the game, and Atharva grabbed his second goal in the 88th minute with a delicate chip over the goalkeeper after being played through by Harold.

There was still time for one more as PIFA capped off a remarkable performance in style. In the dying moments, Shubham produced a brilliant cut-back to beat the defender and finished calmly, sealing a resounding 5-0 victory.

The emphatic result marked a statement win for the young PIFA squad as they produced one of their most complete performances of the season, while Mumbay FC were left searching for answers after a difficult evening.
