MYJ-GMSC delivered a statement performance in the Mumbai Premier League, thrashing Kalina Rangers 7-0 to climb to second in the standings.

MYJ-GMSC delivered a statement performance in the Mumbai Premier League, thrashing Kalina Rangers 7-0 to climb to second in the standings.

With just two games remaining, the Mighty Lions now sit just one point behind league leaders India On Track, keeping their title defense hopes alive.

The game started with MYJ-GMSC asserting dominance early, pressing high and earning a series of corners. The breakthrough came in the 26th minute when Kamlesh rose highest to head home Keegan’s pinpoint corner at the near post. As halftime approached, the lead was doubled through a well-worked team goal. Tanmay set up Palash on the wing, whose low-driven cross was tapped home by a sliding Dwight as the ball found its way to the back of the net for a comfortable 2-0 lead at the break.

The second half saw MYJ-GMSC continue their attacking intent. Keegan and Kamlesh combined once again in the 53rd minute, with Keegan’s free-kick delivery met by Kamlesh’s powerful header to make it 3-0. Moments later, Keegan turned from provider to scorer, curling a sensational 25-yard free-kick into the net via the inside of the right post.

The goals kept coming as Vidipt set up Tanmay, whose fierce shot slipped past the goalkeeper to extend the lead. Vidipt then got his name on the scoresheet, timing his run to perfection to beat the offside trap and clinically head home Tanmay’s cross. In injury time, Siddharth split the defense with a perfectly weighted pass to Andre Gazdar, who coolly slotted the ball past the goalkeeper to complete the 7-0 rout.

With this emphatic victory, MYJ-GMSC leapfrogs Hope United into second place, putting them in prime contention for the title. With two matches remaining, the Mumbai Premier League is set for a thrilling climax as the Mighty Lions push to retain their crown.
