MYJ-GM wrapped up their Mumbai Premier League Group A campaign in style, securing a 3-1 victory over CFCI in a well-fought contest.

The game began with an explosive start as MYJ-GM took the lead in the very 1st minute. A misjudged clearance inside the CFCI box led to an opportunity, and Abhijit Tawhare’s relentless pressing paid off. He muscled past a defender before firing a powerful strike from a tight angle, putting MYJ-GM 1-0 ahead.

Both teams battled for control throughout the first half. MYJ-GM looked to extend their lead, while CFCI focused on counter-attacks, searching for an opening. Despite some promising moves from both sides, the scoreline remained unchanged at halftime.

CFCI found their equalizer in the 57th minute. Om received a pass from the right flank and drove forward before unleashing a ferocious shot from just outside the box. His strike flew past the keeper, making it 1-1 and reigniting the contest.

The game remained evenly poised as MYJ-GM pushed forward in search of a winner. Their persistence paid off in the 88th minute when Palash and Tanmay combined on a swift attack from the right wing. Palash delivered a pinpoint cross into the box, and Sujal met it perfectly, slotting it past the keeper to restore MYJ-GM’s lead at 2-1.

CFCI almost responded immediately in the 90th minute through a set-piece. Om’s curling free-kick from just outside the box had the MYJ defense beaten, but the ball rattled the crossbar, keeping the Lions ahead. Moments later, MYJ had a golden chance to seal the game when Palash found himself in a one-on-one situation with the keeper, but his effort was brilliantly saved with a fingertip stop.

In injury time (90+3 minutes), MYJ-GM finally put the game beyond reach. A well-executed attack from the left wing saw Tanmay finish off a smooth passing move, ensuring a 3-1 victory for the Mighty Lions.

Full-Time: MYJ-GM 3-1 CFCI

A dominant performance saw MYJ-GM conclude the group stage on a high note, reinforcing their strong position heading into the knockout phase.
