MFA 1st Division witnessed two enthralling semifinal clashes, with Mumbai Warriors FC & Navnagar FC booking their place in the all-important title showdown.

Semifinal 1: Mumbai Warriors’ Dominance Holds Firm

The first semifinal saw Mumbai Warriors FC secure a convincing 3-1 victory over Yawn FC. Mumbai Warriors got off to a flying start, taking an early lead after Yawn FC’s Zaid conceded an unfortunate own goal. They doubled their advantage just ten minutes later when Daljeet found the back of the net in the 34th minute, giving his side a comfortable lead heading into the break.

Yawn FC showed great resilience in the second half and mounted a spirited comeback attempt when Alston Gonsalves scored in the 76th minute, setting up a tense finish. However, Mumbai Warriors’ Shabhaz Khan extinguished any hopes of a comeback, scoring a crucial goal in the dying minutes of added time to seal the 3-1 win and a spot in the final.

Semifinal 2: Navnagar FC Stage a Dramatic Comeback

The second semifinal proved to be a nail-biting affair, with Navnagar FC scripting a remarkable comeback to defeat Catholic Gymkhana 2-1. It was Catholic Gymkhana who drew first blood, with Kastubh Meher scoring in the 48th minute to put his team ahead and pile the pressure on Navnagar.

The tables turned dramatically in the space of just four minutes. Navnagar’s Rushikesh Kholi netted the equalizer in the 69th minute, breathing new life into the match. The turnaround was completed soon after, in the 73rd minute, when an own goal handed Navnagar the lead, which they held on to with determination to secure their place in the Division 1 Final.

With Mumbai Warriors FC and Navnagar FC both proving their mettle in contrasting but equally thrilling ways, the stage is now perfectly set for a highly anticipated final match.
